Artist's Bio
Anna Birstein
Anna Birstein is a Russian-born artist who works in watercolor, oils and ceramics.
Growing up in one of the most beautiful cities in Russia, St. Petersburg, influenced her artistic
style. A skillful and experienced watercolorist, she is exploring other mediums. Anna developed a special
passion for ceramic sculpture and pottery.
Birstein participated in three Art Student work exhibitions at Allegheny and Boyce Campuses
of CCAC in 2016, 2017, and 2018. She won a merit awards for “excellence in painting” (2017),
for “excellence in 2D media” (2018). For her ceramic figurative butter dish the Turtle, she
obtained a First Place Award for “excellence in 3D media” at the student show at Allegheny
Campus in 2018.
Anna Birstein earned her Associate Degree in Art from the Community College of Allegheny County (CCAC) in Pittsburgh, PA (graduated with Honors in 2018), a Bachelor’s Degree in Applied Developmental Psychology
from the University of Pittsburgh (graduated with SUMMA CUM LAUDE
in 2015), and an Associate Degree in Early Childhood Education from Community College of Allegheny County (graduated with Honors in 2012).
She is currently earning her MEd in Art Education at Carlow University, Pittsburgh, PA.
Anna Birstein continues her artistic career and works as a private art teacher.
